Former Philippine President Cory C. Aquino, died on Saturday, August 1, 2009. Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III said that she died of cardio-respiratory arrest at exactly 3:18 a.m. Saturday – (1918 GMT Friday).
Later today (August 1, 2009) further details of her wake will be announced.
Maria Corazon Cojuangco was born on Jan. 25, 1933.
Aquino was known as an icon of Philippine democracy which was restored after the People Power (EDSA) Revolution.
